Screening - Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring
Obtain information about the location and extent of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries using CT scanning. CAC has been shown to predict coronary artery disease (CAD) events more accurately than standard risk factors, C reactive preotein and Framingham risk stratification. The goal of CAC is to detect CAD at an early stage prior to the development of symptoms. Physician referral required.
