Joint Replacement Preoperative Class
Ready for Your Joint Replacement Surgery?
We hope you are excited about taking this important step toward a new life! Your “Joint Journey” begins long before your actual surgery. To ensure you and your family are fully prepared, we’ve designed a Preoperative Education Class and a printed Patient Education Resource Guide especially for you. Your Orthopedic Surgeon invites you to join us for this class at no cost to you.
Time: Held every Thursday at 2-3:30 pm (except Thanksgiving) – Please call 503-251-6287 to let us know which week you will be attending.
Place: Columbia-Willamette Room in the Cardiac Pavilion at Adventist Medical Center (located on the lower level of the Cardiac Pavilion).
Presented by staff of the Joint Replacement Center at Adventist Medical Center (Nurse Navigator, Physical and Occupational Therapists, and Orthopedic RNs), the class will help you better understand your diagnosis, the joint replacement process, postoperative rehabilitation, as well as what to expect every step along your journey to increased mobility and improved health. One of our Physical Therapists will demonstrate exercises you can begin at home preoperatively to prepare for your rehab sessions after surgery. Your Nurse Navigator will provide information, tips and activities to speed recovery and support lasting success. We wish you a rapid and safe recovery in your quest for improved mobility, increased wellness, and living younger, longer!
