Overview

At CareMark Behavioral Health Services, our goal is to provide assessment and intervention to individuals and families so they can obtain the appropriate level of services. We provide comprehensive mental health treatment services for children, adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings located throughout the Portland metropolitan area. The medical center provides the largest private hospital mental health inpatient program in Oregon. The philosophy of “whole person care” encompasses all areas of the organization. Psychiatric treatment is provided at Adventist Medical Center as a component of a larger consortium known as Caremark Behavioral Health Services. Driven by our mission to be responsive to patient and community needs Caremark Behavioral health was formed as a joint venture between Adventist Medical Center and Legacy Health System . The goals of this collaborative effort included improving quality of behavioral health care available in the Portland metro area, reducing costs and duplication of services, and increasing access to a greater variety of services.

Adult Mental Health Services

Inpatient Psychiatric Services

CareMark Behavioral Health Services offers comprehensive inpatient psychiatric services at Adventist Medical Center. The goals of the inpatient programs are to provide thorough assessments, intensive focused interventions and comprehensive discharge planning. Features include:

Dedicated to "whole person" care, the Counseling and Therapy Department offers a variety of counseling methods and treatment approaches facilitated by professionally credentialed practitioners. Services include:

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

CareMark Behavioral Health Services offers inpatient and outpatient help for children and adolescents coping with depression, grief and loss, aggressive behavior and a range of other issues. Our complete range of services includes:

Inpatient Services
Our inpatient treatment program for children and adolescents is located on a 17-bed secured medical unit on the campus of Legacy Emanuel Hospital. This acute psychiatric setting is a safe environment for young people and families during times of crisis.

We embrace the philosophy that children do well if they can, but often lack the skills needed to succeed. Our multidisciplinary team uses the collaborative problem solving (CPS) model to create an individualized treatment plan targeting skill deficits that interfere with daily living. Our goal is to stabilize and assess each patient, support and educate parents and guardians, and build a foundation for future successes.

Each patient receives a comprehensive assessment, including:

Assessment of current crisis

  • Evaluation of skill strengths and deficits, including formal psych testing as needed
  • Identification of family support needs

Admissions

For more information, call CareMark Access 503-413-4848, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is the single point of entry for all referrals. Clinicians will assist with the gathering of clinical information, determine appropriate level of treatment and provide health plan assistance.
