Northwest Regional Heart Center Presents Matters of the Heart - Bon Appetit

February 7, 2011

Is it possible to eat more and weigh less? Can heart healthy foods really taste good? Adventist Health’s Northwest Regional Heart Center is offering a set of free interactive classes titled “Matters of the Heart...Bon Appétit” which answers those questions.

There’s a whole world of healthy eating that celebrates flavor as much as it does nutrition. Dr. Hans Diehl, director of the Lifestyle Medicine Institute presents a free two part series highlighting the powerful foods that can help you maintain a healthy weight. Dr. Diehl, founder of the Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIPS Program) has graduated more than 50,000 students from the lifestyle education program.

The free interactive sessions provide practical lessons on cooking, eating, and living heart healthy. “The Power of the Plate” will be held on Monday, February 21 at 2 p.m. at Adventist Medical Center’s amphitheater and features research about food choices. Dr. Diehl presents “Eat More and Weigh Less” on Tuesday, February 22 at 7 p.m. also at the hospital.
