Dan Tonkovich named Adventist Medical Center Foundation Vice Chair
Dan Tonkovich, of Vancouver, Washington has been appointed vice chair of the Adventist Medical Center (AMC) Foundation board of directors. The Foundation represents the philanthropic efforts of Adventist Health in the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area.
“We are pleased with Dan’s new role on the board,” said Foundation board chair Wes Rippey, MD. “Dan has a wide range of leadership experience, broad knowledge of the community and an understanding of nonprofit management.”
Tonkovich has served on the AMC Foundation board since January 2010. He also served as a member of the Annual Golf Benefit Committee for the past 16 years.
During his five-year tenure as the Foundation’s golf committee chair, Tonkovich helped raise more than $574,000 in net proceeds to help fund the medical center’s community health programs.
In addition to his role as vice chair of the AMC Foundation board, Tonkovich will chair the Board Development Committee and will lead board member recruitment efforts. “Dan’s interest and vision for the future of Adventist Health is greatly valued,” states Rippey.
Tonkovich is the director of business development for the Stoner Electric Group of Milwaukie, Oregon. He served on the Vancouver City Council from 1991-2007 and served as mayor pro tem from 1996 – 2007. He is a founding member and co-chair of the Clark County Mayors’ and Community Leaders’ Prayer Breakfast Committee. He and his family have lived in Vancouver for 30 years.
