Adventist Medical Center Took Appropriate Measures to Ensure Safety and Security
At approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday night February 17, Adventist Medical Center issued a code silver indicating a combative person with a weapon on the premises of the hospital. No injuries occurred to staff or patients. The suspect is officially deceased. The Portland Police Bureau is currently investigating the situation. Patients and visitors have full access to all hospital services including the Emergency Department lobby and ambulance entrance.
The health, security and safety of our patients, employees, physicians and community is our top priority. The hospital has policies in place to help protect those we serve and appropriate steps were taken to ensure the safety of all.
We are grateful for the collaboration between staff and local authorities in helping keep our community safe.
