TCMC Seeks Board of Directors Nominations

Tri-County Medicaid Collaborative (TCMC), serving Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties, is an integrated community delivery system that aims to achieve better care, better health, and lower costs for the Medicaid population and Tri-County community. The TCMC is in search of nominations for its Board of Directors. The organization is seeking certification as a coordinated care organization (CCO) as authorized by the Oregon Legislature. The Board of Directors will be the governing authority for the TCMC, and will work closely with, and receive feedback from, a Community Advisory Council and clinical advisors. Please find attached the Board of Directors Candidate Application and closely review the directions and information below.

The TCMC will be responsible for the health of more than 200,000 members of the Oregon Health Plan, working with providers of care and services across the region.

There are currently eleven founding members who are bearing the significant financial risk of the organization. One additional position will be held by the Chair of the Community Advisory Council. An additional 8 positions, most of which are specified by statute, are open for nominations. They are:

  • 1 Primary Care Physician
  • 1 Specialist Physician
  • 1 Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care

Each of the above must be in active clinical practice in the Tri-County community. Each of the above must currently serve a significant portion of the OHP population.

  • 1 Dentist
  • 1 Mental Health Provider
  • 1 Addictions Provider

Each of the above must be in active clinical practice in the Tri-County community. Each of the above must currently serve a significant portion of the OHP population.

  • 2 community at-large positions

The nominations will be reviewed by the Governance Committee of the TCMC Board of Directors, which will make final recommendations to the full Board.

Nominations will be reviewed with a variety of factors in mind, including but not limited to:

  • Proven leadership ability
  • Previous experience serving on boards
  • Commitment to serving the OHP population
  • Diversity
  • Experience with large, complex organizations
  • Knowledge and experience regarding nonprofit and community based organizations
  • Specific skills such as finance, audit, legal, international, information technology, diversity awareness, governmental affairs, public relations, marketing, and leadership development.
  • Community experience

Nominees determined to be finalists will undergo background checks as required by law; and conflicts of interest disclosures.

Nominations must be received by 5:00 pm May 25, 2012. Decisions will be communicated the week of June 25, 2012.
