Annual Golf Benefit
2013 Golf Benefit raised more than $107,000, thanks to generosity of sponsors and players
More than $107,000 in net proceeds was raised at the Adventist Health Foundation’s 18th Annual Golf Benefit on July 14 at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha, Oregon.
Huge thanks for the hundreds of hours of planning and efforts by the Annual Golf Committee, chaired by Mike Button of Southwick Specialty Advertising, for making this year’s another successful and well-received event.
“The golf benefit really offers to our sponsors, supporters and others in the community the opportunity to partner with us for the greater good of the community,” said Tom Russell, president and CEO. “Thank you to each and every one of our supporters for joining us again this year. This year their support provides seed funding for a Family Birth Place project that otherwise might not see funding for quite some time.”
The net proceeds will benefit the Family Birth Place and efforts to become designated a Baby-Friendly Hospital, as put forth by the UNICEF and WHO, and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. (Learn more by downloading the Golf Tournament Benefit Project Page )
“A huge thanks to our volunteer leadership provided by chair Mike Button and the Golf Committee,” said John Korb, Foundation executive director. “We’re also grateful for the long-term leadership of Presenting Sponsor PKA Architects.”
Next year’s Annual Golf Benefit will be in July (date to be announced) with another early morning start.
Since 1996, more than $1.7 million in net proceeds from the charity tournament has helped to improve the health of our community.
Community service programs benefiting from past tournaments include:
- Community Health Van mobile wellness service
- Outpatient diabetes education
- Patient care scholarships for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation patients
